Dr Chandan has described Joginder Nagar as his karmabhoomi. In his account the place holds a herbal garden, a herbarium, and the Lok Ayurveda Museum.
He has written that the garden was threatened with conversion to housing in the early 1990s, and that a court ruling kept it as a garden.
