Lok Ayurveda, as Dr Chandan describes it, is the Ayurveda that never settled only in classical books. It is carried by village vaidyas, folk healers, midwives, and other traditional community healthcare providers, and it is tied to local plants, food, and place.
His published aim is to document that knowledge with prior informed consent, compare it with classical and scientific sources, and support voluntary recognition of practitioners. The same work argues for protection from biopiracy, conservation of the plants the knowledge depends on, and fair benefit sharing when communities choose to take part.
